1959 Corvette Convertible . Mild Restomod. A complete
body off the frame restoration completed 4 years ago by Mel
Bryson & Sons racing team of Vida, Or., and driven 4000 miles since
completion. Paint is 1966/67 Corvette Sunfire Yellow, a soft
mellow yellow. All new Al Knoch black interior, Al Knoch black
convertible top, and a freshly restored correct black 1959
hardtop. All the chrome and stainless trim was re-chromed or
polished. New correct tinted windshield with all new rubber and
fasteners. All hood, door, soft top and trunk hinges were
reconditioned, coated and installed with new fasteners. This
Corvette is powered by a new Chevrolet Performance ZZ4 350 C.I.
crate engine, upgraded with a new aluminum Edelbrock hi-output
manifold, progressive linked dual four Edelbrock carburetors, an
Edelbrock hi-output alternator, MSD distributor and ignition,
producing a responsive yet manageable 385 horsepower for
comfortable and reliable cruising.A completely rebuilt Borg
Warner super T10 4-speed transmission with a Corvette correct
shifter was placed behind a new Center force flywheel/clutch
coupled by a balanced drive-line to the positraction 3rd member
with new 3:70 gears.A Messler Engineering front coil-over
independent front suspension was installed including adjustable
aluminum shocks, rack & pinion power steering and disc brakes.
The stock rear end housing was soda blasted and new rear
suspension, including springs, anti-sway bar, control arms, and
track locator were re-coated before being installed with new
shocks A new fuel tank, sending unit, filters, and fuel lines
were installed along with a new Dewitt aluminum radiator and
Griffin aluminum shroud with dual thermostatically controlled
electric fans. An Edelbrock hi-flow aluminum water pump was
installed for improved cruising and engine temperature
control.Sanderson ceramic coated headers connected to a custom
exhaust system with Bassani Xhaust mufflers routed through the
bumper for a mellow exhaust sound and look.Front tires are 17"
BF Goodrich G-force sport mounted on Foose polished aluminum
Nitrous wheels while the rear tires and rims are 18" using the
same BF Goodrich/Foose combination. The tire/wheel combination
in conjunction with the 2" dropped front spindles give the 1959
Corvette the perfect slightly lower front stance and appearance.
